WELCOME BACK TO XINJIANG, yeah yet again, i know you guys might be kinda sick of it, but i just had to blog about it okay! just one last entry, i am so good at procrastinating, i was back in shanghai since 2nd October and WAH PEH, today is the 4th of November and here i am to complete the last post of XINJIANG! okay, call me loser for once.

we were all so tired after spending close to 3 hours in the desert. we went up to our tour bus after that, feeling all so tired.

out of a sudden, i heard hazel crying and she wasnt feeling well and she looked as though she had difficulties in breathing and she looked pale.

she had some problem breathing and we quickly sent her to the nearest hospital.

it looked really rundown and true enough, the service and everything is rundown, considering the fact that it was located at one of the not so developed city in China and it was not even in the main town of the city.

hazel's heart had some problem and she had to go on drip. poor girl the needles are thick and it looks so painful. she was also stuck with the oxygen bag so that she can breathe better and without using so much effort and strength.

we stayed in the hospital from 3 plus till midnight!

BRAVO!

and the clock hit twelve! DADA!

a cake appeared outside the ward and DADA its PEIYU's 21st birthday!

ziming gave her a sunflower, wahahha, only the seed! ahhaha the driver of our tour spent so much time finding one but he couldnt! cos the season wasnt right!

we then rush to the airport and it was time to bid farewell.

the two guys in front are the tourguide (on the right) and the tour bus driver (on the left). they are nice people who took really good care of us all the time, treating us fruits and drinking with us. They are also very caring people who helped us through the exciting yet tiring journey in xinjiang.

as xinjiang is so so freaking damn big, we spent like close to 3 quarter of the time there on the BUS! what a waste! haha we are so well trained to sleep and do anything on the bus!

so after the beautiful wonderful lovely and super duper COLD kanas, we moved on to the hot region of XINJIANG.

next , we visited the ghost town, its called the monster world because the landscape of the place is so strange that at night, when the wind blows, there will be loud howling sounds coming out from the place.

Xinjiang's famous of their raisins and grapes. but it was quite a disappointment man. awww. we couldnt pluck the grapes and eat just like that. the place was overly commercialized and there's nothing much to see except the grapes that filled up the whole rooftop and we can eat none of it.

Then we went to home visit at some farmer house, in actual fact is to buy raisins from them cos according to the tourguide, the raisins from the households are organic and it is very good for health and digestion.

they treated us with tasteless HAMIGUA, rockmelons, disappointed man.

trip of the GIP -- XINJIANG 新疆！

WELCOME TO XIN JIANG EVERYBODY!

LET'S START THE BLOG ENTRY WITH THE GREETINGS FROM OUR NEW XINJIANG FRIEND!

Before we start the entry, let me tell you a little more on the place that we chose for our GIP major trip. (:

Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region is located in the west side of China. It is a really really large region that it took up one-sixth of the whole China mainland. The approximate land area of the whole xinjiang is 1.6million sq km (which is around 2263 Singapores! and there are more than 10airports in the whole Xinjaing, can you imagine how big it is now??). Xinjiang borders Russia, Mongolia, India and several Middle East Countries such as Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, and Pakistan; which explains its multi cultural society with many many ethic groups, its either 37 or47 altogether.

The majority of Xinjiang is made up of the Uyghur Ethic Group, from which its full name suggests too. The uyghur people takes up around 45% of its total population. In Xinjiang, you do not feel that you are in China anymore as the people you see on the streets are not purely chinese, they usually has the tinge of middle east features on them, like how uyghur people look like; and moreover, you get to see Kazakhs and Russians around as well, mostly doing tradings, agricultures or setting up food stalls in night markets etc.

Besides, when you stepped into Xinjiang, you seldom see Chinese Temples and Monuments around. It is really different from other parts of China. Instead, the architecture of Xinjiang s very much influenced by middle east, round roof, flat roof, single story squarish white houses etc. Besides the Architecture, the religion of the xinjiang people are also very much under the influence of the middle east. Majority, which includes almost all the uyghur people are Muslims, that also explains the us seeing Halal signs (清真 in Chinese) outside almost every restaurant, road signs are written in Chinese and Uyghur, which is Xinjiang's official language,also; mosques are located in the middle of no where an almost every single town we went, pretty amazing, its really so un-china.

Moreover, we had also taken much consideration on deciding the location of our GIP tour trip is because there had been 3 or 4 bombing incidents in the City of Kashgar in Xinjiang, policemen and students were killed during the bombings and it was done by the terrorists, something like suicide bomber if i am not wrong, and it just happened back some time back in early or mid August. Freaking recent. but after looking at the tourist attractions and knowing that the places we gonna go are no where near Kashgar, we dicided to go ahead to explore Xinjiang, as u know Xinjiang is freaking big. hahah.

Xinjiang is also famous of its 烤羊肉 and 烤全羊 as the Uyghur favourite dishes, also, the fruits in Xinjiang is fantastic especially their Rock Melon, it was too sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet to be true, the climate in Xinjiang are really suitable for growing different kinds of sweet melons, grapes etc.

Oh and another interesting yet scary fact about xinjiang is that it has the highest AID/HIV infection number in the whole of China(it took up one tenth of the whole China infections), in which, there are 60,000 infections out of its 20 million population.

Okay i guess with this short summary on Xinjiang, we can now move on to our 7 days of adventurous yet enriching experience!

After putting out luggage at the hotel, we dash out to one of the night market there. ahaha. the weather was shiok, prolly aroubd 20 degree celsius, windy icy yet not too chilly.

After 天山天池，we set off to this place called KANAS, 喀纳斯！This is the nicest place that we had ever been too! its so beautiful, i swear the photos below still do not do the place justice! and before reaching KANAS, we saw snow! we were so excited! for many of us, it was the very first time seeing snow, taking photo with snow and playing with snow!

The hotel we stayed in KANAS was in actual fact a big big bungalow with many many rooms. its cosy and comfy besides the fact that it does not have my favourite winter electric appliance HEATER!!!!

then we went to this place to have buffet lunch, quite horrible as usual and after that we stole from butter cookies for snacks and we were very full so we had to do some exercises.

well, i had a minor heart attack when i was in xinjiang and when i reached shanghai, i wasnt feeling too well and had fever so we came to this hospital to pay the doc a visit.

BUTTTTT

the hospital is gross, seriously, everywhere we go we held ur breath, refused to look around and when i had a blood test, they used needles to poke my finger, LIKE NEEDLES U KNOW, not the stapler you use in singapore.

OH, and there's a place where the people were put on drip, it was like a refugee camp to linluan hahahaha

so you guys should count your blessings :)

and after the hospital my mom insisted i should head to parkway medical centre to visit another doctor and have a checkup.

just for 15mins in a beautful environment and some simple test

the bill turns out to be 400+ sgd!!!

seriously.........................

but well, the env is good, i like it hehehehhe

i loook happier here too :P

3rd day of our 4 super duper happy days

3rd day already! Time flies!! Happy time flies, really fast! We two pigs woke up past noon. Sern Siang and Hazel were even worse!! They woke up in the later part of the afternoon!! That makes them the pigs of pigs!! Don't know why, even though we woke up at noon, still very tired!!! We had lunch at home, instant noodles!! =)) It was nice, really nice!! Perhaps it's the hot water that made it special, or rather, the person who boiled the hot water that made it special!! =))

We then left the house for LuJiaBang. As recommended by Dominic (ChengHao made his suit there), Miss Lim and Mr Lu went hunting for a tailor to tailor a suit for Mr Lu as i require a suit for my Buddy Tao Liang's wedding in 2 weeks time. We took the subway there, (my first time on a subway in Shanghai, we have been cabbing for the first 2 days), arrived at LuJiaBang station. The Fabric market where my suit can be tailored was just a 5 mins walk away.

The fabric market is just like Sim Lim Square back in Singapore mann!! Just that the difference is that it is full of shops that sell fabric (that's why called fabric market whattt!!). We did quite a bit of marketing as proposed by Dear. Doing marketing quite shiong mann!! Need to find out price, then touch the fabric, everytime i go into a shop, i just touch a bit here touch a bit there, acting like i know a lot about fabric, but in actual fact, all i can identify is its colour, i left the important task of choosing the fabric to Miss Lim's touch. I trust her. =)) Or rather i just wanted to tailor something that was chosen by her. Any colour, any design, as long as it's chosen by her, i'll be happy to wear it. =)

We then settled in this shop which looks slightly more atas, as compared to most of the other shops around in the market. We asked for the price and the shopkeeper quoted 600 (or was it 680 Dear?), after lotsa effort and time, my dearest teh-pok finally brought it down to 480. Seems like it's the lowest the shopkeeper is willing to let us bargain. We then settled for that price and now, the toughest part!! Time to choose fabric, they have tons of fabric there to be chosen!! How to choose?? Wenyang took the easy and lazy way out!! Wahaha!! He left it to his Darling. (i'm not really that lazy lah!! but like what i said, i just wanted something that was chosen by Miss Lim to wear on my Buddy's big day). After a while, we settled for a dark blue suit with very fine strips (i'm sure i'll look good in it! wink wink!!)

Next, i thought since we were already at the fabric market, must as well make a shirt too. We asked for recommendations from the shopkeeper where we made our suit and she recommended a shop that specially tailors shirt. Nothing much to be mentioned at the shirt shop, we didn't bargain much, think Miss Lim was tired of bargaining, anyway it was only 100rmb for a shirt, at most. Doubt we can do much bargaining here. In the shirt shop, we met this Singaporean couple by chance. The guy was working in HP Shanghai (we didn't ask what the wife is doing). Btw, we identified this couple when the husband first told the wife 'let's go'. They then subsequently spoke in a weird language (guess it!!) France has got Eiffel Tower, Rome has got the colosseum, Malaysia has the twin towers, USA and Canada has got the Grand Canyon, Singapore.................... has got SINGLISH! Wahahaha!! It's really a powerful language, not really that easy to master okay, so many ang mohs want to learn also got problem LO!! Wahaha! Btw, his office is situated just beside GES where my Dearest works). So China isn't that big afterall huh!?? Like real, China is really really huge, this is really just pure coincidence lah!!

This couple was singing the praises of this one tailor that they always frequent!! Say he this very good la, that very good la. That made Dear and me think, wah peh!! Wouldn't it be good if we had met this couple earlier (btw, this couple both round round one, their actions very comical and can tell that they are nice people). Then we decided, why not make another suit, since it is not really that expensive. This tailor charges 600rmb (slightly more expensive than the one before, but if the quality and worksmanship is good, it's worth it isn't it?). So we followed Mrs Lim (the round lady, not my Dearest, my Dearest will never have a chance to be Mrs Lim! wink) to the Tailor Shun (Stall #198). When we arrived there, she greeted the tailor and his assistant like they very 'arh ga liao'! Can joke and talk cock kind. Anyway, after we settled on the price of rmb600. We thanked her and she left us and rejoined her husband Mr Lim back in the shirt shop.

This time we chose a brown suit. We didn't have any colour in mind when choosing. But brown wasn't a bad choice as the brown blazer can be worn out casually with jeans. Sure very shuai one!! Haha. Time spent at Tailor Shun's stall was very short. We left shortly and on the way out of the market. We bought 2 scarfs for my Grandma and one for my Darling.

Miss Lim was complaining that her stomach was making noises. And being the super paranoid other half, i was afraid that her stomach will give her problems. So i quickly whipped out my Lonely Planet (the one that saboed me on the second night) guide and chose 'Paul' at French Concession East since i thought we have never been there. But when we arrived, i realized that French Concession East is XinTianDi where we went on the first night la!! Chey!! But either way, 'Paul' was still a nice experience. 'Paul' is quite atas also, i thought it's just another normal bakery. It turns out to be a French bakery that is mostly frequented by expats in Shanghai. Since Miss Lim was hungry, i went to order quite a bit of food! Only after paying and sitting down, i then realize that the food not really that cheap mann. I almost made a hungry woman a angry woman!! Wahahaha! BUT, Dear's stomach is way more important than money! Even if i have to eat grass, i must also fill her stomach!! And i can eat grass cause my stomach is stronger than hers!! (i know your throat's better than mine lah). Eating grass is overexaggerating btw!! The meal wasn't really expensive, just slightly above what an average meal will cost us.... in Singapore! Haha.

2nd day of the 4 super duper happy days

My first night in Shanghai was good! Slept soundly, as though i was at home. In fact, i slept like a pig and i was the last to wake up in the house. By the time i opened my eyes, Dear and Hazel was already changed and Sern Siang was about to come out of the shower. (aiya, i purposely sleep longer cause i know Sern Siang still bathing mah!! okay, i know it's not convincing. Wahaha) Kudos to Miss Lim for successfully waking me up, it is a task that my Mum and Grandma still finds daunting, after 23 years. We promptly left the house at around 750 cause Hazel was running late. She studies at Traffic and Traffic starts at 830am while Fudan starts at 9am. We then went downstairs and met up with the rest of the Traffickers (Dominic, Shouzi and Sean).

The 7 of us then walked out to the main road together. Dear called two cabs. One for Fudaners and the other for Traffickers. Once on the cab, Miss Lim showed off her one of the skills that she acquired in Shanghai, lying to Cab drivers. Wahaha!! I shall not elaborate on that! You tehpok!!! Wink wink. But the main reason why Miss Lim and Sern Siang didn't want to be late was because Saturday morning's lesson was conducted by this strict teacher and it was better that we arrived early to secure a good seat (far far from her and away from her view). We didn't get the very good seat in the end. Cause we didn't arrive exactly early!! Heh. After we got down the cab, we went to have breakfast first at the South Africa Guo Tie shop. We then bumped into Ziming and Peiyu there and went to school together.

Lesson was held on the 25th storey of Fudan Twin Towers. On the way up to our classroom in the lift, we bumped into our teacher somemore!! The day's lesson turned out to be a project discussion about Chinese fastfood and Western fastfood in China. 3 groups came together to form a team and i bet the other 2 groups must be damn qi kek. Cause our group didn't contribute much, or anything at all! I only remembered something like ‘炸的很好吃’. Wahaha! Miss Lim's stomach wasn't feeling too good, so she didn't talk much. Ziming and Peiyu was engaging in their favourite activity; sleeping. And Sern Siang and I were busy discussing matters that didn't matter to anyone else except the both of us. Wahaha!! In short, the 5 of us were there only for attendance. Wait, the 4 of them were there for attendance, i was only there because there is no way i'm gonna get separated from this one girl. Wink wink.

After lessons, with recommendations from this AT in black dress, we went to this Korean restaurant near school for lunch. Restaurant food was okay, the 2 of us spent 24rmb on a soupy noodle and fried rice. I think 12-15 was the average cost for each person. Miss Lim was only allowed to take something soupy cause of her stomach. Nothing earth-shaking took place during lunch, except that we were greeted with some maggots in the stove, which luckily we didn't have to use. Ziming had a complimentary gift from the chef in his rice. A black curly hair entangled in his rice. Readers, i leave it up to your own imagination ya! Heh. Peiyu eventually got it changed for him though. But whether was it the same bowl with only the hair taken out remains a mystery!! Wahaha. That was all for lunch!! Oh ya, wait!! The Korean place got sell Dog soup also!! Maltese, Husky, Golden Retriever, Bulldog, you name it you have it!! You can even pat them and talk to them before brining them for a super hot shower in boiling water!! Oh mann!! I sound so cruel!! But i'm just kidding by the way!! There is indeed Dog soup, but i don't know if you have a variety of dogs to choose from. Anyway, we should not eat dogs!! They are intelligent animals and good companions!! But i will eat Sparky one day if he continues to pee on my bag at home!!

After lunch, my Darling decided to head back home first because her stomach was giving her some serious discomfort. Sern Siang, Ziming and Peiyu continued their day by heading to QiPuLu. This time on the cab, it's my turn to apply what i learn from Miss Lim, i tried to urge the cab driver to drive faster cause i couldn't bear to see my Darling in pain. But apparently, i'm not that good in it. The cab driver still took his time. Damn!! I should have 'ka pui' in his cab before alighting!! Wahaha!!

We got back at around 1 plus, rested and when we opened our eyes, wahahaha!! The sky completely dark alr!! We then quickly got changed and left for dinner!! My original plan was to head to Yang's Kitchen in French Concession West for dinner as recommended by Lonely Planet. We took a cab from our place and alighted somewhere near the eating place and walked. We were led into this super dark alley which was supposed to get us to the eating place. We then approached a dead end where it was super dark (actually i purposely bring her to a super dark place one, so can hold...... tightly mah!! wahahaha!!) and a scary man who was smoking alone at the end of the alley told us that it was closed down alr!! Damn!! Came so far just to realize that it was closed. But it was really a genuine error, i didn't know it closed!! Really really!! Heh. When we were walking out of the alley, another couple was walking in and we heard them say something about Yang's Kitchen too. Seems like a popular place, too bad it had closed down.

I then whipped out my trusted Lonely Planet (actually can't trust alr!! sabo me!!) and checked out another place. This time i decided to go somewhere slightly more atas, Whoampa Club situated at the Bund. Cabbed there again, took a while, and finally when we reached, oh God, it was posh mann!! There was a Ferrari parked just at the entrance (the first Ferrari i see in Shanghai). We took a lift up and when we arrived at the entrance, we decided that we should not eat there until we start working in the future!! Cause it was really expensive!! 300-500 rmb a person easily?? So we agreed that next time when we start working then we go back there and eat. Wah peh, that means next time honeymoon must stop by Shanghai! We should actually, since the Bund left me some of my fondest memories ever. =) At the ground floor of Whoampoa Club was a huge Armani boutique. Giorgio Armani to be precise!! We went in to walk a bit. Aiya, but nothing great about the clothes there lah!! All look so weird!! Wear out also let people laugh lo!! I bet if you were to use pen and write Giorgio Armani on a very long slip of toilet paper and sling it over your neck like a scarf, people will also believe that it's from Giorgio Armani!! That's how weird their clothes look!! Wahaha!

Just across Whoampa Club is the bund, just that this time we're on PuXi side. We strolled along it for a while before heading to a small eating place for some Shanghai local food. Paid 85rmb for it. Miss Lim's treat. =)) Food wasn't fantastic, but company was excellent as usual. Thank you my Dear girl. Biggest regret at the Bund was that i didn't get a portrait of Miss Lim and me drawn by those street artist! I should have got it drawn!! The next time i will!! Bought a rose from a little girl for my Darling on the Bund that night too. I know what flowers to get the next time alr!! Wink wink.

Next, we boarded a cab and head to the Grand Hyatt. Hiak hiak hiak!! Guess what were we doing in a hotel!!?? Hiak hiak hiak!! For a drink of course!! The building i guessed that was the Grand Hyatt the night before wasn't the Grand Hyatt!! Heh. The building shaped like a handle is the Financial Center. Grand Hyatt is just behind it. But close guess lah hor!! We had to change 2 (or was it 3) lifts just to get to the 87th storey of the Grand Hyatt. The bar is called Cloud9. The view was fantastic!! It is much taller than the Oriental Pearl. If you can't see what you want to see from Cloud9, you most probably can't see it anywhere else. I think we arrived at Cloud9 some time past 11 and we only left at around 130? We were the very last to leave the place!! Heh. What we did there?? Fast-forwarded as usual!! Wahaha!! We then cabbed back for the night. =)

My name is Wenyang and to some readers of Lin Luan's blog, i guess i don't need further introduction. =)

Let me bring you through a series of events that took place from 19th to 23th Sept. Those 4 days were unarguably the best 4 days of Lin Luan's life. Opps, mistake, i think it is more like Wenyang's life. Nono, it is the best 4 days of LIN LUAN'S AND WENYANG'S life. =)

19th Sept

Wenyang touched down at Pudong International at 0635. Rushed to clear immigration. The moment he cleared immigration, he dashed for the Maglev. Boarded the Maglev at 0710 and the Maglev left at around 0715. Made a Shanghai friend on board the train, spoke a little, but wasn't paying much attention to what my new friend was talking about. Because in 20 mins time, i was about to see my Darling. Yes, my Darling. I've waited for sooo long for this day to come! Maglev (350km/h) was fast. Within 7-8 mins, i was at LongYang station. I made yet another dash to the guardhouse of Lin Luan's apartment. By the time i arrived at the guardhouse, i was perspiring like a pig. And there i stood waiting for SernSiang to come pick me up. Original plan was to have SernSiang pick me up at the guardhouse and together we head back to the house to surprise Lin Luan. But guess what!! When i saw SernSiang, he had Lin Luan, Hazel and Ziming with him too! I was happy and shy at the same time to see Lin Luan with so many of her friends around her. But without further ado, we gave each other a hug. Yes, the hug was good. The last time i hugged her was 23rd July. That's like almost 2 months ago. Finally, finally, finally!

I then attended lessons with Lin Luan, SernSiang, Peiyu and Ziming at Fudan University. The lecture was kinda boring (okay, more like cause my Chinese sucks and catch no ball what the lecturer was talking about). But i do have proof that the lesson was boring, i will post the picture of Lin Luan, Peiyu, Ziming and SernSiang sleeping in lesson later (the pic is still in my phone, usb cable not with me at home). Wahahaha!

After lunchbreak, we were supposed to head to Shanghai Museum for a tour (part of the afternoon programme for the day by Fudan). But the 5 of us ponteng!! Wahahaha!! We sneaked out via the speciality store exit in the museum while the rest were still in the q to get into the museum.

Dear and I then headed to have dinner at Ajisen at Raffles City. Yes, Raffles City, the shopping mall owned by our very local Capitaland. SernSiang, Peiyu and Ziming headed home. Leaving the two lovebirds with some personal time. Hehe.

Btw, the Ajisen meal was satisfying!! Cause it only costed like 5oRMB, for both of us!! I even added an extra egg (ok, i sound gian ben here, but it was really satisfying!!) We then headed down the shopping belt of Shanghai (Nanjing). Next up was famous brand mall where we shopped at Uniqlo. Bought some things for our friends back home. We then left for the Bund. Yep yep, the bund. First memorable point at the Bund was the first macdonalds kiosk. Wink wink!

Lin Luan and I strolled almost the whole of the Bund mann!! Looking for the place to board the ferry that will give us a tour of the Bund. We walked and walked and walked and walked and finally, we found a ferry terminal!!! Yes, finally a ferry terminal!! When we went to the ticket booth to check out the price of a ticket, guess what!!?? It was only RMB 0.5 a person!! So 2 tickets only cost RMB 1!! Yes, that's like SGD20cents!! For a moment i still thought the goverment subsidised our ride. Maybe that's to encourage couples to date more or something! Heh. We bought the ticket and happily went on board the vessel!! To our horror (okay, maybe horror is exaggerating, we were laughing more than being scared), we stepped onto a single deck in the vessel without any lights. And with us were many motorcycles and workers (chinese version of Banglas). Ohh!! So this ride is to transport workers from one side of the bund to another side!! No wonder so cheap lah!!! The ride was only 3 minutes btw. It was quite an experience though! As long as i'm with a special someone, whatever we do and wherever we are, it'll always be special and meaningful. =)

The ride brought us over to the other side of the Bund (from Pudong to PuXi). It's so hard to get a cab on Puxi side lah!! But we still managed to get one after some waiting and we told the cab driver that we wanted to go to the place to purchase tickets to board the sightseeing ferry. The cab driver brought us there (it was a super short drive, 2 mins?). And there we purchased the tickets (7oRMB for one, 140 for two). What a price difference from the RMB1 for two tickets. Heh. We were then taken from the ticket booth to the ferry terminal in a minivan (as though like they gonna sell us away kind of feeling, and they made me sit in front with the driver with my Darling left alone with some Argentinians). Thank God the ride wasn't long. I didn't feel good allowing Dear to sit alone behind without me. We did make friends with the Argentinians before boarding the ferry cause Dear, being a nice girl, volunteered to help the Argentinians take photos and that's how we started some small talk with them.

We then boarded the ferry, it consisted of 3 decks. Only the open deck was open air and oh mann, it sure was crowded!! The ride was about an hour. But the time passed fast with someones in my arms ==> fastforwarded.

After the ride and the beautiful night skyline of Shanghai, we headed over to the XinTianDi (also know as French Concession East). Went to the Luna where a Phillipino band was performing. Music was kinda noisy, but then again, the company made my night. =) We ordered one calamari, one onion rings, 1 harbin (Dear) and 1 Carona. The serving size of the calamari and onion rings are easily enough for 5 people mann!! We could not finish the onion rings in the end. But we had a good time nevertheless! A really good one.

We then cabbed home and that's about all for the first night! =))

5 more days and i'm officially here in china for 2 months. I am kinda enjoying the life here, getting all the freedom that i always wanted [well, i do miss my mom and home], and for the first time, i didnt mind the change [yup, for now].

well well, work is getting okay, i am doing well with the job scope given and the colleagues are generally nice and kind. they are fascinated with my mandarin and they tried really hard to speak english to me so as to practice their english oral. haha. thats okay, i didnt mind.

Generally i do translation for them too and i thought that being educated bilingually is really amazing and useful, i'm kinda proud of that. haha.

School had started as well, gotta attend school every friday and saturday [usually half day], the school is good and fine, u saw those photos, i bet you can tell. oh well oh well. hope the lessons get interesting soon or we gotta spend time laughing at our own crap during lesson.

we went to a province name 临安where 大明山is，it is part of 黄山，and it is the highest mountain of the area. its quite an eye opener cos u know how tall bukit timah hill and mount faber is. HAHA! so we climbed up the mountain and came down. we are so garang! my knees were shaking wah peh. damn tired.

school started for us finally! shanghai traffic university had started their school since 3 weeks ago and finally FUDAN starts too!

first day of school, the school wasnt that far but it was freaking hard to go. we gotta change train twice and after that change to another bus. WAH PIANG. 1 hour odd to reach the school.

in the end the teacher said the tour must continue and cannot dont go at all, so she decided to bring us to some museum of the university and we had to walk in the rain!

SECOND DAY IN SCHOOL

hahaha, second day in school is crap. we were late for school cos we went to buy breakfast and the teacher talked for 2 hours on 汉语汉字 but she was getting no where. we tried to sleep but didnt dare cos we were sitting right in front of the teacher, this feeling sucks to the core man.

then it was self introduction and dada! end of school. half day for saturday!

we went to 锦江乐园last weekend and it was pretty pretty funn!

i never really like themeparks cos i hate the feeling of upside down in the air and u know the heart like coming out that feeling, like u drop down suddenly, aiya i bet u know i am freaking lazy to explain my feelings.

anyway the themepark wasnt fun. but i was damn garang, i took every single ride, we were entitled to 6 rides for 70rmb and we tried taking all the garang ones. i am so garang!

but but but its also because the rides in the themepark arent that scary! haha. the roller coaster lasted for 30 seconds, the viking ship is so small and low. but then better than nothing lar, we need entertainment.

hello everybody! havent been updating very frequently. so so so i am gonna upload many photos now, and please! dont be a silent reader! post post, even if u are not my friend or u are my friend's friend, just leave a comment :) sometimes i needa know your presence mann!

anyway, let me talk a lil about shanghai before another round of random photoblog, shanghai's weather is getting cooler these few days, i think i needa start bringing my sweater around, oh yeah, last monday there was a heavy heavy downpour! will post the photos soon.

and school's starting on this coming friday! i am so glad! u know u know, that means its 4 day work week for me from next week onwards, thats really great ya know! i dont dread working, but ya know i always wanna be with my friends.

my job in VENTURE GES is getting better by day, i sorta have a clearer idea of my job scope, i am working well with the chinese and they treat me pretty good and some are really kind. i am thankful for that. Also, i hope to gain more mechanical knowledge and learn more things lar! at least now i get to do a little of mechanical stuff, besides all the mundance clerical microsoft excel, life's getting good!

and to everyone there in Singapore, i miss u all just as much, though i'm kinda enjoying life here now, but Singapore is always in my mind, i miss home. i miss laksa and nasilemak and bachormee and hehmee and satay and zhuikway etc etc etc!

oh oh and we are planning for xinjiang trip! during chinese national day, gotta start saving soon, with my tiny weeeeny bit of pay, i wont be able to survive till the end of the program if i continue to splurge [and my pay is freaking low]! HELLO! its friday! finally, i so love fridays, especially after i came to shanghai, work is still pretty dreadful, and i am always sleepy! damn. But but but, this friday, today, was a pretty bad one! i had QA meeting until 5.45pm, and benson texted me at 5.27pm saying that he had called for a cab and it had arrived, but i was still in the midst of the meeting, and i couldnt charbor. by the time we packed up and ready to leave, the cab was gone! DAMN! and then, we started the long wait, we tried calling and callling the cab company so so many times but the network was busy all the time! and it was raining! [it was the coldest night in shanghai since i came, and for the first time in more than 3 weeks here, i wished i have a sweater with me!]. so benson, wenhao and i had to stand in the rain, sharing 2 brollies, hailing frantically for cabs.

BUT THERE WERE NO CABS!

WE JUST WANNA GO HOME AND REST!

COS WE WERE FEELING SO DAMN TIRED, HUNGRY AND COLD!

BUT THERE WERE JUST NO CABS AT ALL!

SO we went back to the company and sat at the lobby and wait. wait and wait wait and wait for the rain to stop and we've never stopped calling the call centre, but still couldnt get through!

the legendary suzhou trip!

its our first time travelling out of shanghai and suprisingly, there were so so many gip people going to suzhou this weekend [cos shanghai traffic university gonna start school this week], yeh so this is probably the last weekend we have which everyone will be free on both saturday and sunday! heehee.

woke up early early in the morning to take mrt to SHANGHAI TRAIN STATION to catch the train.

on the train, yup, its 和谐号. it was pretty good. only 30 to 35 minutes to get us from shanghai to suzhou. with the speed of 170km/h and got aircon got seats very smooth.

here we are. like finally.

we booked a tour bus, or rather we took up a package from the people outside the suzhou train station. they kept pestering us lar. like house flies. worst! haha. then we paid 135RMB each to get to 5 tourist attractions in suzhou, like a day trip kinda thing. and thats me and hazel on the bus!

and we checked into a 2 stars hotel. damned i dont have a photo of it. its 150RMB per night, hahaha. freaking cheap, we had 2 rooms and 9 people sharing them. and the place was gross lar. the toilet stinks! YUCKYYUCKY! hahaha. there was even a pubic hair on top of the tv. my god! and the carpet had stains stains stains everywhere. ewwwwwwww. cheap deals.
